After the wedding we took the family to Niagara to do some sightseeing and some wine tasting. I’ve been to Niagara falls plenty of times but I’ve never been to a wine tasting at a winery so I was pretty excited. But I was probably most excited about having lunch there!
The tour was great and all but lunch was fantastic! For lunch you could choose between three different meals. We ordered all three and each plate is meant to be shared by two people.

We started off with Canadian artisanal cheeses with
fresh fruit, I love cheese and these cheeses were great!

This first plate is “Bench Tour” which is composed of Ontario Lamb Loin “Chop” with basil horseradish. Beets in a phyllo package and wax beans, red onion in a
goat cheese dressing and two pickerel fillet with a caraway bell pepper puree.
I’m not a lamb fan but the lamb was amazing and the basil sauce made it taste even better! The fish was super crispy and moist but the phyllo beet package wasn’t anything special.

This one is that “Assiette du Québec” plate, it consisted of pan-seared duck Magret with a blueberry gastrique. A shallot maple vinaigrette with roasted sea scallops. Cucumbers with a dll crème fraîche ‘aioli’ and a mini tourtière. I’m not a big fan of duck because of the gamey-ness but I tried a piece anyways. As expected I didn’t have anymore duck after that one piece. The scallops on the other hand were perfectly cooked, so delicious.

Third plate was called “East Coast Tasting Plate”. There was a lobster salad with citrus and mint dressing topped with an oven-dried tomato. A medley of potatoes and radish and a creamy herb dressing. For the main there was a pork tenderloin with molasses and Merlot reduction. The forest mushrooms spend on toast was SO good, my boyfriend that doesn’t even like mushrooms had two pieces!

This is most of my family plus some of the boyfriends.
